Hollywood, led by the ever boring Jimmy Kimmel turned the Oscars into a Trump bashing night to forget. They went after just about everything conservative, saving their worst for Mike Pence of all people.
Kimmel said of Pence, “We don’t make films like ‘Call Me By Your Name’ for money. We make them to upset Mike Pence.”
The movie depicts the relationship between two men, one younger. Nice huh?
Jimmel went after Trump as well basically calling him a racist on live TV.
This was all expected and middle America, at this point exhausted by scandal and media hysteria, couldn’t care less what Hollywood thinks.
We think so little of them that we gave them the ultimate humiliation – for media hungry actors that is – we didn’t watch.
For those in Hollywood, the worse thing in the world is to be ignored. America sensing a debacle, ignored the whole night.
The ratings for Sunday night’s telecast of the 90th annual Academy Awards collapsed by a whopping 16 percent, which would mean an all-time low, according to early estimates.
Variety reports that the “8 p.m.-11 p.m. portion of ABC’s telecast averaged an 18.9 household rating and 32 share in Nielsen’s metered market overnight ratings … That’s down about 16% from the 22.5/37 rating generated by the 2017 Oscars.”
According to Deadline, the “18.9 appears to be an all-time low for the Oscars, below the previous low ratings point for the Oscars, logged with the 2008 telecast (21.9).”
Looks like Hollywood does not get the last laugh after all.
