Jim Acosta and April Ryan just did the unthinkable. They just attacked every single Trump supporter with nonsensical claims.
From the Free Beacon:
“The problem is that people around the country don’t know it’s an act … They take what he says very seriously,” Acosta said. “They take attacks from Sean Spicer and Sarah Sanders and what they do to us on a daily basis very seriously. They don’t have all their faculties in some cases. Their elevator may not hit all floors.”
“My concern is that a journalist is going to be hurt one of these days. Somebody’s going to get hurt,” Acosta added. “And at that point, the White House, the President of the United States, they’re going to have take a hard look in the mirror and ask themselves whether or not they played a role in this, whether they created this toxic environment that resulted in a journalist getting hurt.”
And from the Washington Times we have April Ryan’s dig:
“Fake news, by the president saying this, is not just a simply or cute little statement for some,” Ms. Ryan said in a taped interview published Tuesday.
“This has tentacles that is reaching overseas. I’ve heard from European leaders who are saying it can really destabilize democracies. They are very concerned about this fake news issue. Think about it. When you are in a country and your citizenry thinks that you’re fake, thinks that what the news is saying is fake, there can be anarchy some kind of way. It causes a destabilization of democracies. There’s tentacles to what this president is saying. … We are a part of the pillars of this nation.”
Dear God – why does the media try to frame Trump’s fights with the media like this is the first time in history this has happened?
Newsflash: politicians fighting the media is as old as America is and the only thing different about Trump is that he is better at the spin game than the media.
