Some people don’t know when to say “enough is enough.” Like this woman who scaled the Statue of Liberty on America’s 242nd birthday.
Not only did she endanger herself, she also managed to inconvenience a multitude of other people on the Fourth of July. They were turned away from the park because of her antics.
“The park was shut down hours before closing time and was evacuated as a precaution, a National Park Service official told Fox News.”
There was a protest in the park earlier. And half a dozen people were arrested from the group Rise and Resist.
“They hung a banner emblazoned with a message about abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty,” as reported by Fox.

The irony that the New York Police Department – another law enforcement agency like ICE, actually assisted the woman to safety.

She was brought down and then arrested per CNN. The group Rise and Resist first said on Twitter that she was not part of their group.

Later, they told CNN, “The woman, who was not identified, is affiliated with Rise and Resist, an organizer of the group, Martin Joseph Quinn, told CNN. But, Quinn said, her climb was not part of the planned protest. “She climbed without our knowledge. It was not part of our action. We are deeply concerned for her safety,” Quinn said.
