In a show of great respect for Judge Brett Kavanaugh, George W. Bush picked up his telephone and started making calls of support to D.C.!
That’s right! Former President Bush rallied behind Kavanaugh after the explosive testimonies yesterday on Capitol Hill. (VIDEO BELOW.)
Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing testimony brought George W. Bush out to rally votes for him.
Kavanaugh once worked for the former President. George is throwing his support behind a nominee that he knows well.
“Kavanaugh worked for Bush as an associate counsel and then staff secretary in the White House, where he met his wife Ashley, who worked as Bush’s personal secretary,” the Daily Intelligencer reported.
Additionally, as reported by Politico, “The former president had previously said of Kavanaugh: “He is a fine husband, father, and friend — and a man of the highest integrity. He will make a superb Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.”
George W. Bush, the Washington Post reports, has reached out in recent days to Republican senators Susan Collins, Jeff Flake, and Lisa Murkowski, along with Democratic Senator Joe Manchin. The group of four is seen as the key to Kavanaugh’s confirmation; without their votes, he will fail to land a seat on the Supreme Court, reported the DI by New York Magazine. (VIDEO BELOW.)
In a surprising move, George Bush released an official statement after he saw the treatment Kavanaugh received.
Fox News reported that Bush said, “Laura and I have known Brett Kavanaugh for decades. And we stand by our comments the night Judge Kavanaugh was nominated.”
The Bush statement included the comment that Kavanaugh is “a brilliant Jurist who has faithfully applied the Constitution and Laws throughout his twelve years on the D.C. Circuit.”
